Foley Gardere Adds Dallas Real Estate Transactions Partner Clifton Dugas

December 14, 2018 Brooks Igo

Foley Gardere recently added real estate transactions attorney Clifton Dugas to the firm’s Dallas office as a partner.

Dugas, who lateraled over from Polsinelli, says there is “tremendous opportunity” within Foley Gardere’s real estate practice group.

“Being part of such a well-known and successful firm like Foley and working with so many of the legacy Gardere attorneys that are so well regarded in our region, promises to be hugely successful to my practice,” Dugas says.

Before his six-year stint at Polsinelli, Dugas was managing director and chief legal officer of Lantern Asset Management, a commercial real estate asset management and servicing company that managed a $1.1 billion portfolio. While at Lantern, he also served as general counsel and secretary of Resort Finance America.

Dugas focuses his real estate transactions practice on purchases and sales, leasing, development, and property-related matters. One of the more interesting transactions he has handled in the past year was a $100 million-plus construction loan facility in Austin, Texas for his Toronto-based client, Romspen Investment Corporation.

“It was fast-paced and full of the types of complexities that keep what I do interesting,” Dugas says.
The health care real estate space is an area Dugas expects to see more deal flow in the future.
