John Lewis, Jr. – a former chief litigation counsel and global chief diversity officer at The Coca-Cola Company – has jumped to Shook, Hardy & Bacon in his hometown of Houston, the firm announced today.
Lewis was most recently a partner at Lawrence & Bundy in Atlanta. Though he is joining Shook Hardy’s Houston office, he will remain active in Atlanta, where sits on the advisory boards of the National Commerce Corporation and the Anti-Defamation League.
As chief litigation counsel for Coca-Cola, Lewis advised C-suite and board members on matters including government investigations, corporate compliance and class action litigation. Lewis worked for a total of eight years at the world’s largest beverage company.
“I think my differentiator is my depth of experience in the C-suite, where I have advised business leaders, as well as my time in the courtroom overseeing high-stakes litigation,” Lewis said in a statement. “It is rewarding to come full circle to a premiere trial firm like Shook with its high caliber of clients.”
