Former Akin Gump Senior Counsel Jumps to Consulting Firm

March 20, 2019 Brooks Igo

Duff & Phelps, a global advisory and consultancy firm, announced this week that it has tapped former Akin Gump senior counsel Adam August to be a director in its Compliance and Regulatory Consulting (CRC) practice.

August, who is based in Dallas, will lead the expansion of the Duff & Phelps CRC efforts in Texas, according to the consulting firm’s announcement.

A graduate of SMU Dedman School of Law, August has practiced for more than a decade in Akin Gump’s investment funds and private equity group. He has advised clients on private placements, complex federal and state registration and exemption issues for investment advisers and other corporate matters and compliance issues beginning with the initial fundraising process and continuing throughout the life of the fund.
