Former Texas Supreme Court Justice David Medina has been promoted to shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka.
Medina, who joined Chamberlain’s Houston office in 2017, is one of four attorneys and the lone Texan to be elevated to partner at the firm. He advises clients on business transactions, environmental law, international transactions, product liability, insurance coverage, global energy, mediation and arbitration.
Before being appointed to the state’s highest court, Medina served as the general counsel for former Governor Rick Perry. He managed national and international litigation as an associate general counsel at Cooper Industries prior to that.
Medina received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and his Master of Laws from the University of Texas. In 2010, he was named Judge of the Year by the Mexican American Bar Foundation of Texas and the Latino Judge of the Year by Hispanic National Bar Association.
