Kirkland & Ellis is slated to be the anchor tenant of a new commercial office development in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood of Dallas, according to an announcement by CBRE.
The richest law firm in the U.S. has leased 65,986 square feet of office space, including the top three floors, at Weir’s Plaza, a mixed-use retail and office development that broke ground on Monday. Co-working giant WeWork has also signed a lease agreement at Weir’s Plaza.
Kirkland’s 40-plus Dallas lawyers are currently officing in the Bank of America Plaza. Weir’s Plaza is expected to be completed in November 2021, according to the CBRE announcement.
“It was very important to find something that strikes the right balance for our attorneys, staff and clients. Weir’s Plaza and the Knox-Henderson neighborhood offer something that is extremely unique,” Michael Considine, a founding partner of Kirkland’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “This dynamic and energetic community is a perfect fit for our culture.”
Kevin Kushner, Phil Puckett, Harlan Davis and Neal Puckett with CBRE and Brooke Armstrong with JLL represented Kirkland in the lease.
The news comes one year after Kirkland launched its Dallas office. The firm celebrated the milestone last week with a volunteer day for summer associates at the Boys & Girls Club.
