Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease recently added former Exxon Mobil supervising tax counsel Jacquelyn Meng Abbott to its Houston office.
Abbott was at Exxon for nearly two decades. An employee benefits expert, she was responsible for legal compliance of medical, dental, life insurance and disability plans at the oil and gas supermajor. Before her time at Exxon, Abbott worked in-house for more than 20 years at Lincoln Financial Group.
Columbus, Ohio-based Vorys, in a way, is a homecoming for Abbott, who received her law degree from The Ohio State University.
Abbott has chaired the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation Corporate Counsel Committee for the past eight years.
