DLA Piper announced Tuesday that Kim Askew, a leader in the Dallas legal community, has joined the firm as a partner.
The former K&L Gates attorney focuses her practice on employment matters involving claims of race, disability, gender and age discrimination and sexual harassment. She also handles litigation involving business torts, trade secrets, non-compete, and non-solicitation and employment agreements.
DLA Piper leaders say they are adding a lawyer with strong client relationships nationally and locally and a proven mentor.
“As we continue to expand our presence in Dallas, Kim will play a key role in allowing us to increase our service offerings and better respond to the needs of clients,” Marc Katz, managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “She is well-known as an involved and enthusiastic leader in the legal and business communities in Dallas, and we are thrilled to welcome her on board.”
Askew was the recipient of the inaugural Dallas Bar Association Distinguished Service Award, named in her honor, in 2017. She is also a past winner of the DBA’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Justice Award.
