Wilson Elser is adding Houston law firm Powers & Frost, nearly doubling the number of attorneys in its Houston office.
Eight Powers & Frost attorneys and staff started working under the Wilson Elser name on Jan. 1, creating a Texas presence that now includes 20 attorneys in Houston and 35 in Dallas.
Sharla J. Frost, one of the founding partners of Powers & Frost, has been named the new regional managing partner of the newly combined office. Frost is a graduate of Baylor Law School.
Joining Wilson Elser’s Houston office with Frost are seven attorneys:
- Gwendolyn Frost, whose practice focuses on employment counseling and litigation, commercial litigation, toxic tort and catastrophic injury defense. She serves as of counsel.
- Shawn Golden, whose practice focuses on labor and employment, premises and products liability, first- and third-party insurance claims, commercial disputes, oil and gas cases, and toxic tort matters. He serves as of counsel and is a 1997 graduate of the South Texas College of Law.
- Chandria Jackson, whose practice focuses on business and commercial litigation. She is an associate and a 2004 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center.
- Clive Markland, whose practice focuses on products liability, white collar criminal matters and other business disputes. He serves as of counsel and is a 2000 graduate of Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
- James Powers, whose practice focuses on toxic tort multi-plaintiff litigation, particularly dealing with asbestos cases. He serves as of counsel and is a 1978 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center.
- Laura Rahman, whose practice focuses on toxic torts, with an emphasis on asbestos, benzene and silica. She serves as of counsel.
- Michelle Scheiffele, whose practice focuses on product liability litigation. She is an associate and a 2002 graduate of the South Texas College of Law.
