January 12, 2022 Mark Curriden

The 2021 DFW Corporate Counsel Awards are two weeks away and the Association of Corporate Counsel’s DFW Chapter and The Texas Lawbook are ready to announce the finalists for the last two award categories.

ACC DFW and The Lawbook received more than five dozen nominations. Six separate three-judge panels examined the submissions.

The sole finalist and recipient of the 2021 DFW General Counsel of the Year Award for a Midsized Legal Department (6-20 attorneys) is Pizza Hut Chief Legal Officer Lauren Leahy, who also serves as assistant general counsel for Yum! Brands.

The sole finalist and thus winner of the 2021 DFW Senior Counsel of the Year for a Small Legal Department (1-5 lawyers) is City Electric Supply Senior Counsel Denton Muse.

The nearly 20 finalists for the 2021 DFW Corporate Counsel Awards will be honored and the winners announced on Jan. 27 at the annual awards event at the George W. Bush Institute, which is part of the presidential library.

Earlier this week, ACC DFW and The Lawbook announced that Southwest Airlines Chief Legal Officer Mark Shaw will receive the 2021 DFW Corporate Counsel Award for Lifetime Achievement at the ceremony.
