K&L Gates Hires IP Partner in Houston

April 4, 2022 Natalie Posgate

Collin Rose has joined the Houston office of K&L Gates, the firm announced Monday.

Rose, who joins from Chamberlain Hrdlicka, was chair of his prior firm’s intellectual property practice group. The University of Houston Law Center alum has spent his legal career advising clients in global IP transactions, post-grant patent challenges before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, adversarial legal proceedings and managing IP portfolios.

His practice has a particular focus in the energy, HVAC, manufacturing, processing, chemical, semiconductor, medial device, software and computer technology industries.

Rose’s arrival is part of a larger effort by K&L Gates to expand its IP practice. Last month, 10 IP partners joined in Boston and others have joined in recent months in multiple offices, including Austin.

“We are delighted to welcome Collin to the Houston office and the firm,” Anil Patel, managing partner of K&L Gates’ Houston office, said in a statement. “Collin’s strong knowledge in patent prosecution along with his reputation in the market will allow him to continue to provide high quality intellectual property advice to his clients, as well as grow his client base. With the firm’s global platform, Collin will be able to broaden the offerings to his clients to include IPRs, M&A and corporate law and other areas.”
