The general counsel at Toyota North America, Sandra Phillips, and the GC at the North Texas Tollway Authority, Dena Stroh, have been selected by the Association of Corporate Counsel’s DFW Chapter and The Texas Lawbook to receive the 2024 DFW Corporate Counsel Awards for General Counsel of the Year for a Large Legal Department and a Governmental/Nonprofit Legal Department respectively.
In addition, ACC-DFW and The Lawbook have named Texas Capital GC Anna Alvarado and FirstService Residential GC LaToyia Pierce Frink as the two finalists for the 2024 DFW Corporate Counsel Award for GC of the Year for a Midsized Legal Department and Caris Life Sciences GC Russ Denton and Momentum GC Robin Everly as finalists for GC of the Year for a Small Legal Department.
The DFW Corporate Counsel Awards recognize the extraordinary legal work and successes of in-house lawyers, as well as their contributions to the legal and local communities.
ACC-DFW and The Lawbook will celebrate the finalists and announce the winners at the annual DFW Corporate Counsel Awards event on Jan. 30 at the George W. Bush Institute.
All net revenues — income after costs — from the DFW Corporate Counsel Awards goes to the Texas Lawbook Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with one mission: to fund reporter positions to cover pro bono, public service and diversity in the legal profession in Texas. The objective is to celebrate firms and corporate legal departments for their achievements and commitments to pro bono, public service and diversity while also highlighting shortcomings and challenges.
Last week, The Lawbook announced the winners of the 2024 DFW Lifetime Achievement Awards, which can be found here.
For the 2024 DFW General Counsel of the Year for a Large Legal Department, King & Spalding partners Veronica Lewis Moyé and John Hooper nominated Toyota GC Phillips.
