Marisa Cruz Hurd, a former senior staff attorney for the 14th Court of Appeals in Houston, has joined Texas appellate boutique Alexander Dubose & Jefferson.
While her experience spans civil, criminal and family-law appeals, Hurd, a former Baker Botts associate, developed significant expertise on corporate matters.
Alexander Dubose & Jefferson Managing Partner Marcy Hogan Greer said in a statement that Hurd’s “unique understanding of the workings of the appeals process” will “undoubtedly be of great benefit to our clients.”
Hurd is a Rice University graduate who earned her law degree at Stanford. She started her career in the law clerking for Judge Harold DeMoss Jr. of the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
