March 2, 2026 Elle Grinnell

Stephanie Cagniart, an appellate attorney, has joined Alexander Dubose & Jefferson LLP as a partner in the firm’s Austin office from Baker Botts. Cagniart will focus her practice on complex appellate litigation in state and federal courts, according to a news release.

At Baker Botts, she handled high-stakes appeals and trial matters across the country. Earlier in her career, she served as a federal prosecutor and clerked for Senior Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Her appellate experience spans the U.S. Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Texas and different U.S. Courts of Appeals, as well as state and federal trial courts.

“Stephanie is an exceptional advocate with deep experience at all levels of the trial and appellate process,” said ADJ managing partner Marcy Hogan Greer. “Her ability to quickly and thoroughly master the intricacies and nuances of complex matters is remarkable. She will be an invaluable asset to the firm and our clients.”

Alexander Dubose & Jefferson is a Texas appellate boutique firm with offices in Austin, Dallas and Houston. The firm includes former justices, appellate judges and clerks from the Supreme Court of Texas and multiple federal courts of appeals.
