Baker Botts Strengthens Environmental Law Practice with Ex-DOJ Attorney

March 28, 2019 Brooks Igo

Baker Botts announced this week that Jeffrey H. Wood, the former acting assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s Environment & Natural Resources Division, has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is the ninth partner addition over the past year in the nation’s capital.

Wood’s 21-month-stint as the AAG for the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division is the longest tenure of any acting AAG in the division’s 110-year history, according to the announcement from Baker Botts. He led more than 600 attorneys and staff representing the EPA, the Departments of the Interior, Energy and Defense, and other agencies in civil and criminal enforcement and defensive environmental, energy and natural resources litigation.

“Baker Botts is a firm with an unparalleled legacy of leadership in environmental and energy law, a deep bench of talented lawyers, and impressive core values of professional excellence, teamwork, collegiality and service back to the community,” Wood said in a statement.
