DALLAS (February 10) — Former Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney Rebecca “Becky” Gregory is joining Curran Tomko Tarski, a prominent Dallas boutique firm, effective immediately.

Rebecca Gregory

A 1978 graduate of St. Mary’s University Law School, Gregory has an extraordinary resume as a former prosecutor. She served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern and Eastern districts for more than a decade, prosecuting terrorism-related matters, as well as drug and fraud cases. The University of Dallas alum also represented the federal government in numerous civil matters.

Most recently, Gregory was with the Texas Attorney General’s office, where she was senior counsel and associate deputy attorney general for the criminal division. She was special prosecutor in the public corruption case involving the Collin County District Court Clerk’s office.

In 2005, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Gregory to the 283rd Judicial District Court in Dallas, where she presided over felony criminal matters.

This is Gregory’s second stint at Curran Tomko. She was a partner at the firm for a little more than a year when President Bush appointed her in 2008 to the Eastern District position.

“I know the lawyers at this firm and I’m comfortable here,” said Gregory. “This is a great law firm and it is a good fit for me personally.”

Ed Tomko, a named partner at the firm and a highly regarded expert in securities litigation, said Gregory’s addition boosts its white-collar defense capabilities.

“Becky has tremendous experience that will greatly benefit our clients,” he says. Curran Tomko has 18 lawyers in Dallas.
