Bell Nunnally Recruits FINRA Enforcement Pro

October 24, 2024 Brooks Igo

Bell Nunnally has added its third partner in the second half of this year with the addition of John Guild, a senior attorney with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Over the last seven-and-a-half years at FINRA, Guild led investigations and prosecuted formal disciplinary actions for a variety of violations of securities laws, including misrepresentations in the sale of securities, failures to develop and maintain reasonable anti-money laundering programs, data privacy issues, and records retention issues arising from off-channel communications.

“John’s experience at FINRA, coming after many years as an active litigator in private practice, gives our clients a unique perspective on one of the financial industry’s most important regulatory bodies,” Christopher B. Trowbridge, managing partner of Bell Nunnally, said in the firm’s announcement. “Our litigation team has enjoyed a very active year, helping our clients thrive.”

Guild, a former clerk of Judge Catharina Haynes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, has practiced at Carrington Coleman, Gibson Dunn, Gruber Hurst, and Lynn Pinker over his career. He received his law degree from Duke University.
