Austin-based Brown McCarroll announced Wednesday that it will merge with Kansas City, Mo. Firm Husch Blackwell, effective July 1.
The name of the combined firm will be Husch Blackwell LLP.
The combination will give Husch Blackwell access to the Texas legal market, and Brown McCarroll a national platform, which currently has offices in Austin, Dallas and Houston.
The addition of the three Texas offices means the new Husch Blackwell has offices in 16 cities, more than 600 attorneys and 750 staff, according to the press release.
“We’ve been approached several times with offers to combine with other national firms, and Husch Blackwell was the match we’ve been waiting for,” Brown McCarroll managing partner Adam Hauser said in a statement.
Founded in 1938, Brown McCarroll has been recognized throughout the years as one of the top firms in Texas.
