Dallas litigation and trial firm Carter Arnett kicked off the second half of the year by elevating Linda Stahl and Stacey Cho Hernandez as name partners.
The 14-lawyer firm is now called Carter Arnett Stahl + Cho Hernandez.
“Linda and Stacey represent the absolute best of the legal profession, and their elevation to name partners is a natural reflection of the leadership they’ve provided for years,” firm founder Leon Carter said in a statement.
“As Carter Arnett Stahl + Cho Hernandez, we want to be known as a high-stakes and higher-standards law firm. Our clients come to us when the stakes are at their absolute greatest level. They stay with us because our rigorous standards deliver results.”
Stahl, who started her career at Gibson Dunn and practiced for 15 years at Andrews Kurth, was recruited to the firm in 2014 by Judge Karen Gren Scholer when the federal judge was a name partner. The Big Law refugee wanted more courtroom and trial experience, and she said there is no one better to learn from than Carter.
“I’m very excited. The firm is in a really good place and it’s exciting to be part of that,” Stahl said of the name partner promotion. “I’ve kind of been the mom of the firm for a long time and I want to guard our culture. We take our work product very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.”
Cho Hernandez joined the firm six months after it launched in 2012. She said it is exciting to help decide what the firm – which she and Stahl describe as “young with a deep bench” – will become.
“It makes you feel more committed,” she said. “It is incredible to have the name Cho Hernandez on the door and what that communicates to up-and-coming minority lawyers.”
