Clifford Chance announced Monday that it has bolstered its energy and infrastructure team with two partners from Kirkland & Ellis, including Houston attorney Ty’Meka M. Reeves-Sobers.
Reeves-Sobers, who is joining Clifford Chance alongside D.C. partner Marcia Hook, specializes in environmental regulatory matters and transactions and will also be a part of the firm’s global ESG team. In her practice, Reeves-Sobers helps clients navigate permitting processes and develops strategies on enforcement action negotiations and environmental crisis response.
“I am thrilled to join the growing CC energy and infrastructure team alongside one of my favorite colleagues,” Reeves-Sobers posted on LinkedIn. “I am also looking forward to building the U.S. environmental offering and meaningfully contributing to this platform!”
In December, Reeves-Sobers was part of the deal team that advised The Heritage Group in an agreement with EQT Infrastructure that resulted in EQT assuming a majority position of Heritage Environmental Services.
Reeves-Sobers provided environmental guidance on two deals for Bernhard Capital Partners last year: In April, Bernhard sold Charah Solutions Inc., a provider of environmental services and byproduct recycling to the power generation industry, to SER Capital Partners for $426 million. In February, Bernhard-backed Lemoine, a construction management and disaster recovery firm, acquired Macro Cos.
After earning her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 2015, Reeves-Sobers began her career in private practice at Baker Botts in Austin. She joined Kirkland in 2018 and made partner there in 2021.
