Dave & Buster’s announced Thursday that Rachel Morgan has joined the restaurant and entertainment business as its chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Morgan, who was the general counsel of Nexstar Media Group for the last four years, succeeds Rudy Rodriguez as the legal leader at D&B. Nexstar recently announced Elizabeth Ryder as its new GC.
“Dave & Buster’s is an iconic brand with a talented team and tremendous opportunity ahead. I’m looking forward to the challenge and to helping support the company’s next chapter of growth,” Morgan said on LinkedIn.
“A special thank you to Rudy Rodriguez for his partnership and for helping make the transition a smooth one. I’m grateful for the strong foundation he leaves behind.”
Rodriguez said on LinkedIn he will be teaming up with former Dell legal executive Janet Bawcom at General Counsel Solutions on July 1 to provide fractional GC services.
“I am so grateful to have worked with so many talented and exceptional colleagues across the organization and very proud of the work my team and I have accomplished during my time with the company,” Rodriguez said. “I will always root for their success and am grateful to have been part of this wonderful organization.”
After graduating from the University of Texas School of Law in 1999, Morgan started her career at Fulbright & Jaworski. She also practiced at Morgan Lewis before going in-house at AT&T in 2012, where she worked for nearly a decade and left as its associate general counsel of labor and employment and corporate litigation.
Morgan helped raise more than $1.3 million for pro bono legal services as co-chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Equal Access to Justice Campaign for the 2023-2024 campaign.
Both Morgan and Rodriguez are past honorees of the Association of Corporate Counsel – DFW Chapter and Texas Lawbook Corporate Counsel Awards.
