(Aug. 19) – Dallas trial lawyer Debbie Branson and the Parkland Health & Hospital System Board of Managers were recently honored by the Texas Healthcare Trustees with the 2015 Star Trustee Award.

The seven-member board was recognized on July 31 during THT’s 2015 Healthcare Governance Conference in Austin. Branson serves as the chair of the Parkland Board of Managers.

Under her leadership, the board hired the first new CEO in nearly 30 years at Parkland and oversaw the completion of a new 2.1-million-square-foot facility, which officially opens at 6 a.m. tomorrow.

The Star Trustee Award is presented annually to leaders at hospitals or health care systems who demonstrate the ability to effectively advocate locally, statewide or nationally for the betterment of Texas hospitals and the patients and communities they serve.
