Many states have a poet laureate. The Texas Legislature, before it adjourned, created the position “Tweeter Laureate” and it named state Supreme Court Justice Don Willett to be the first person to fill the position.
The Dallas Morning News published a terrific article Monday by Associated Press journalist Eva Ruth Moravec. The article focuses on Justice Willett, who tweets at least 10 times daily to his more than 17,000 followers.
“I’m the most avid judicial tweeter in America, which is like being the tallest Munchkin in Oz,” Willett, aka @JusticeWillett, told the Associated Press.
