(July 19) – Matthew Maruca, the former general counsel of publicly-traded Nobilis Health Corp., has returned to private practice at Baker Donelson in Houston as of counsel.
Maruca’s tenure with Nobilis, a Houston-based health care facilities and management services provider, spanned more than six years.
From January 2014 to February 2015, Marcua served as acting outside general counsel while an associate at Baker Donelson. He then transitioned into the full-time general counsel role at Nobilis.
Maruca joins the firm’s health law group. He represents public and private companies in business transactions, general corporate matters and health care regulatory compliance.
“Matt’s experience as in-house counsel to an NYSE-company paired with his background as a private practice attorney make him a tremendous addition to our Houston team,” Brad Chambers, managing shareholder of Baker Donelson’s Houston office, said in a statement.
