(May 9) – Gardere partner Chris Converse was the only Texas lawyer selected to M&A Advisor’s 40 under 40 list of legal advisors, the firm announced earlier this week.

Converse, who chairs the firm’s securities and corporate governance team, will be honored at a black-tie gala in New York in June. The University of Virginia School of Law graduate focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, financings, and public and private offerings of debt and equity.

“As an up-and-coming leader at the firm, Chris has shepherded several high-profile transactions and earned the trust and respect of many of the industry’s most influential players,” Holland O’Neil, the firm’s chairwoman, said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Converse represented a private equity firm in its acquisition of an international supplement manufacturer.
