February 21, 2012 – Geoffrey A. Long has made the six-block jump in downtown Houston to Thompson & Knight from longtime firm Bracewell & Giuliani, where he began as an associate in 1989. Long will expand Thompson & Knight’s corporate and securities practice, the firm announced last week. He is already on the job as of February 7.
A 1989 Baylor Law School alum, Long has 20 years experience representing both sides of corporate transactional cases, including M&A, business-entity structuring and corporate governance. He has represented public and private companies of all stripes, including oil and gas, manufacturing and medical devices.
Mr. Long has served as chairman of the Houston Downtown Alliance for nearly a decade and is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s in business administration and a law degree from Baylor.
