Gray Reed Adds Wendie Childress to Litigation Bench

August 6, 2026 Brooks Igo

Gray Reed has bolstered its litigation depth with the addition of Houston partner Wendie Childress.

Childress has spent the last seven years in the litigation finance world for Westfleet Advisors and Validity Finance. But the bulk of her career was forged at Yetter Coleman, where she practiced for 17 years.

With the move, Childress gets to team up with her husband, Matthew, at work, too. Matthew joined the firm as its chief growth and operations officer last year.

“After many years of litigating complex commercial cases, plus years advising on litigation finance, I look forward to bringing that experience to advise and advocate for Gray Reed’s clients,” Childress said on LinkedIn. “So grateful for the warm welcome, and looking forward to getting to work.”

Childress’ practice focuses on representing plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes business disputes involving contracts, business torts, antitrust, and intellectual property claims.
