Gray Reed announced Thursday that it has hired Brandon Meek, a sales operations and client strategy director from PwC, to be its chief marketing officer.

The news comes two months after the firm brought on Matthew Childress from consulting firm Opportune to be its chief growth and operations officer. Childress and Meek know each other from overlapping tenures at PwC.
Meek, who sits in Houston, is the second CMO in the 150-lawyer firm’s history; Michael Blachly, who held the post for six years, left in March to be the director of business development at Troutman Pepper Locke.
In addition to leading account development for a $4 billion segment at PwC, Meek was serving as the sales and market leader for the OpenAI Alliance.
Prior to his eight years at PwC, Meek led IT and project management initiatives at McKesson.
“I already viewed Gray Reed as a premier destination to continue my career, but the opportunity to collaborate with Matthew again made the decision even more compelling,” Meek told The Lawbook. “I’m energized by Gray Reed’s leadership commitment to expanding practice capabilities for clients and driving the firm’s growth journey.”
Gray Reed is a top 20 firm in Texas when ranked by headcount, according to Texas Lawbook 50 research, and reported nearly $100 million in revenues in 2024.
