(Jan. 11) – Greenberg Traurig announced today that the firm has added Mark Stratton and Craig Duewall as shareholders in Austin.

Stratton and Duewall were most recently at Fort Worth-based Shannon Gracey, which announced it was closing at the end of last year. They are joined by associate Erik Weber.

Stratton says he was attracted by Greenberg’s platform and “strong commitment” to Texas.

“I was looking for a firm that would allow me to provide more opportunities to service existing clients and market to new clients,” he said.

Duewall also noted the firm’s inclusiveness, particularly as it relates to women in leadership positions.

“I have three young daughter,” he said. “I can see role models for them at the office.”

Stratton and Duewall focus their practice on oil and gas litigation. Their clients include international, mid-size and small oil and gas operators and service providers.

Stratton says the uptick in transactional work in the oil and gas industry – particularly in the Permian Basin – will lead to more litigation. He says the key to staying busy in the oil and gas business is positioning yourself near the activity.

The Eagle Ford, in Karnes and Gonzales counties specifically, also continues to stay busy, Duewall says.
