(Sept. 29) – Greenberg Traurig has recruited a team of four Dallas real estate attorneys headlined by shareholder Bud Doxey, the firm announced yesterday.

Doxey and his team – which includes associates Lolly Chauppette, David Ortigoza and Wes Smith – were previously at Andrews Kurth Kenyon.

“Greenberg Traurig is the industry leader in what I do,” says Doxey. “They have everything I could possibly need for my clients.”

While ground-up development of apartments and office buildings continues to be his team’s top growth area, Doxey has seen a significant growth in the development of memory care facilities, which are designed for long-term care of people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other types of memory problems.

“When you can do something to help others, it feels good,” he says of his team’s work on memory care facilities.

The SMU Dedman School of Law graduate has handled commercial real estate transactions across the country, including joint venture formations, asset and entity acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, financing on behalf of borrowers and general property and asset management.

Doxey recently handled a “fascinating” $1 billion deal in Las Vegas involving a shopping center adjacent to the Aria Resort & Casino.
