Greenberg Traurig announced this week that it has recruited Bill Katz to co-chair its Antitrust Litigation & Competition Regulation Practice.

Katz, who offices in Dallas and Washington, D.C., joins GT from Holland & Knight. Katz has spent his 30-year career at Thompson & Knight/Holland & Knight.

GT Executive Chairman Richard Rosenbaum in the firm’s announcement highlighted Katz’s experience advising clients in the healthcare and energy industries.

“With robust demand for antitrust transactional and litigation counsel worldwide, we are certain he will provide clients with exceptional representation and service in this area that continues to grow in importance,” said Rosenbaum.

Demetrius McDaniel, an Austin-based senior vice president at GT, added that Katz’s experience “allows him to provide exceptional insights to clients because he understands the complexities that companies experience in navigating business decisions in Texas.”

Katz is currently serving as co-chair of the Trial Practice Committee of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section.

AREAS OF FOCUS
Katz represents clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts, arbitration panels, and administrative agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice.
