(May 22) – The Houston Bar Association announced this week that Bracewell partner Warren Harris has assumed the presidency of the fifth largest metropolitan bar association in the country.
Harris, chair of Bracewell’s appellate practice, succeeds Alistair Dawson of Beck Redden in leading the 11,200-member bar. He has served on the HBA board of directors since 2008 and is a past chair of its Houston Volunteer Lawyers and Houston Lawyer Referral Service.
As president, Harris will focus on developing programs that promote professionalism, ethics, member services and community involvement through programs that educate the public on judicial civics, the rule of law, and the role of lawyers in our society, according to the HBA’s announcement.
