Head of Legal for Bilfinger NA Joins Blank Rome

December 1, 2021 Brooks Igo

Blank Rome announced Tuesday that the head of Bilfinger North America’s legal department, C. Brendan Cummings, has joined the firm as a partner in Houston.

Cummings is Blank Rome’s fourth corporate hire this year. In September the firm added its first corporate partners in Houston with Cassandra Mott and Sarah Frazier from Holland & Knight. The firm has since added Cecilia Ibarra-van Oostenrijk as well.

“I have worked with several Blank Rome attorneys on a number of high-stakes matters over the years, and I know the team can deftly navigate any challenges and accomplish whatever clients ask of them,” Cummings, who was at the German international industrial services provider for four-plus years, said in a statement.

Before his tenure at Bilfinger North America, Cummings was deputy general counsel at Tesco. He has also worked in-house at Ensco. The University of Houston Law Center graduate started his career at Bell, Ryniker and Letrouneau – which later combined with Blank Rome.

Cummings will focus his practice on transactions, dispute resolution, corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters. His transactional experience includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs and strategic restructurings and his litigation background includes counseling C-suite executives on construction disputes.
