John Meadows has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in its Houston office from Steptoe & Johnson. He will handle litigation for energy producers involving contracts, regulatory issues, antitrust claims and property damage, according to a news release.
Meadows was at Steptoe & Johnson for 14 years where he was representing coal, oil, natural gas and renewable energy companies. His matters have included development disputes, pipeline and storage litigation, contract defense and petroleum refining lawsuits. He also handles litigation involving financial services, healthcare and mass tort claims. Before entering the legal field, Meadows held an executive role with a technology subcontractor for a U.S. Department of Energy facility.

Meadows joins the seventh largest firm by Texas headcount and no. 10 firm by Texas revenue, according to Texas Lawbook 50 data.
Meadows currently serves as a trustee of the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation and co-chairs the Oil & Gas Committee in the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. He earned his JD from the University of Richmond School of Law.
