January 14, 2019 Brooks Igo

Holland & Knight announced today that Houston public finance expert Derrick Mitchell has joined the firm as a partner.

Mitchell, who jumped to H&K from Bracewell, serves as bond counsel and disclosure counsel for tax-exempt financings for cities, counties, state agencies and independent school districts. He has developed an emphasis on general obligation and revenue bonds, including transportation revenue, industrial revenue, higher education, mortgage revenue, pollution control and non-profit hospital bonds.

The University of Houston Law Center graduate is the chairman of the board of Scenic Houston, an advocacy group for visually-appealing streets. He also serves as a member of Texas Southern University’s Board of Regents.
