Carson Young, a commercial litigation partner, has joined Latham & Watkins in Houston from Kirkland & Ellis. He will focus his practice on complex commercial disputes and high-stakes litigation matters, according to a news release.
Before joining Latham & Watkins, Young practiced at Kirkland & Ellis for two years, where he handled a broad range of commercial litigation matters involving contractual, intellectual property, insurance recovery, antitrust and securities issues. Before that, he was at McKool Smith for six years from September 2017 to January 2024. He has briefed and argued matters in state and federal courts nationwide and secured dismissals, dispositive rulings and favorable outcomes in high-stakes disputes across multiple industries.
“Carson is a terrific addition to our Houston office and the firm, and his arrival further accelerates the momentum we are building across the state,” said Nick Dhesi, Managing Partner of Latham’s Houston office. “He is a go-to trial lawyer for clients facing high-stakes commercial litigation, and his considerable experience further enhances the depth of our team in Texas and nationally. He has the kind of versatile, prominent practice that cuts across industries and disciplines and intersects naturally with our strengths in litigation, M&A, private equity, and capital solutions, and we are excited to welcome him to the team.”
AREAS OF FOCUS
Young’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, intellectual property litigation, insurance recovery matters, antitrust claims, securities litigation, trade secret disputes, shareholder activism defense and multidistrict litigation.
