November 17, 2011 Mark Curriden

by Jessica Huseman, Staff Writer

NOVEMBER 17 — Houston energy lawyer Darrell Taylor is taking his Capital Markets Practice from Baker Botts to Jones Day.

A 1984 graduate of the University of Texas Law School, Taylor has primarily represented businesses in the energy, energy services and petrochemical industries during his 26 years of practice.

Taylor has represented clients in a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including initial public offerings, large U.S. and international debt and equity offerings, tender and exchange offers and other SEC matters. He has also helped clients negotiate, document and complete mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and prepare for and respond to takeover bids.

His clients have included LyondellBasell Industries N.V., KBR, Inc., Hydril Company, Equistar Chemical Company, Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, Cornell Companies, Purolator Products, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.

Nancy MacKimm, the Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Houston Office, says that Taylor’s “extensive experience representing major Texas corporations in their strategic transactions fits well with Jones Day’s global mission and provides additional depth to our Energy and Capital Markets practices.”

Jones Day has 50 lawyers in its Houston office and 160 lawyers in its Dallas office.
