Liz Klingensmith, a litigation partner, has joined Burke Law Group in Houston from Pillsbury. She will focus her practice on high-stakes commercial, energy, construction and trade secret disputes, according to a news release.
Before joining Burke Law Group, Klingsmith spent five years as a partner in Pillsbury’s energy litigation practice, representing clients in complex commercial and energy disputes. She was previously a partner in the energy litigation practice at Womble Bond Dickinson for more than two years and at Blank Rome for the same period. Earlier in her career, she spent more than 12 years at Haynes and Boone, where she became a partner and began in the firm’s business litigation practice group.
“Liz is exactly the kind of lawyer clients want in the room when the stakes are existential. She tries cases and wins them in the most demanding commercial and energy disputes, and she does it with the judgment, command, and business pragmatism that define this firm. Her arrival deepens our already-formidable Texas litigation bench, and it signals precisely where Burke Law Group is headed,” said Marcella Burke, Chairman and Managing Partner of Burke Law Group, in the release.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Klingensmith represents companies in commercial, energy, construction and trade secret disputes through every stage of litigation, including pre-suit strategy, discovery, dispositive motions, trial, arbitration, mediation and appeal. She has extensive experience handling bet-the-company litigation and other high-stakes commercial disputes, with a focus on protecting clients’ business interests and enterprise value, according to the release.
