Consuella “Connie” Simmons Taylor, a real estate partner, has joined Seyfarth Shaw in Houston from Baker Botts. Taylor, who most recently served as firmwide chair of Baker Botts’ real estate & construction practice, will focus her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing and development, according to a news release.
Before joining Seyfarth, Taylor spent more than 30 years at Baker Botts, where she built a nationally recognized real estate practice representing developers, owners, landlords, buyers and sellers in complex commercial real estate transactions. She led the firm’s Real Estate & Construction practice and advised clients on matters involving office, retail, industrial and mixed-use properties.
“Connie’s outstanding real estate practice is multi-faceted and well-aligned with Seyfarth’s national platform,” said Paul Mattingly, national chair of Seyfarth’s Real Estate department, in the release. “Her deep experience in retail and office leasing, development, and sophisticated real estate transactions — combined with her reputation in the industry — positions her as a high-profile addition to our team. We are excited to have Connie join us with her vast experience and proven leadership.”
