Invitation Homes Selects Former SEC Associate Director as VP of Litigation and Investigations

September 25, 2025 Brooks Igo

Former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Associate Director B. David Fraser has joined Dallas-based Invitation Homes as senior vice president of litigation and investigations, Fraser announced on LinkedIn.

Invitation Homes is a single-family home leasing and management company with a portfolio of more than 110,000 homes across 16 top U.S. markets and a market cap of approximately $18 billion.

“After more than 20 professionally rewarding years, I left the SEC (and the Fort Worth Regional Office) two weeks ago,” Fraser wrote on LinkedIn. “During my SEC career, I was blessed to work alongside dedicated teammates across the country with a passion for protecting investors. For the past two years, I also had the privilege of leading the agency’s enforcement efforts in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. In this role, I led the talented and hard-working enforcement staff in the Fort Worth Regional Office. I am extremely proud of all we accomplished together and I will miss being a part of the SEC and FWRO teams going forward.”

Prior to his two years as Associate Director of the Fort Worth Regional Office, Fraser led the FWRO Trial Unit in representing the SEC in nationwide federal civil litigation and in representing the Division of Enforcement in administrative proceedings.

Last year, Fraser played a key role in the SEC’s FWRO bringing charges in an alleged $650 million crypto pyramid scheme and an alleged $300 million Ponzi scheme by 17 sales workers with Houston-based cryptocurrency trading company CryptoFX.

In a 2024 interview in The Texas Lawbook, Fraser said some of his most proud days were playing a role in filing 25 successful emergency actions because “our ability to protect investors was most tangible.”

Fraser started his career at Haynes Boone, where he practiced for five years handling securities, intellectual property and other complex commercial matters.
