Dallas-based law firm Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton announced Wednesday that the firm bolstered its intellectual property and corporate practices with the addition of six attorneys from Winstead.
Five of the laterals possess IP expertise: Dallas partners Ross Robinson, David Lovell and David Odom; Houston partner Henry “Bud” Ehrlich; and Dallas of counsel Stan Moore. Patent agent Shoaib Mithani is also included in the IP group joining Shackelford.
“While we have a number of attorneys who provide our clients with ongoing IP assistance on many fronts, never before have we had the depth of expertise that this group represents,” John Shackelford said in a statement. “With the breadth of knowledge they bring, their addition is almost like introducing a new practice area to the firm.”
The attorneys’ practices include transactional and litigation work as well as strategic IP guidance, portfolio due diligence, and patent preparation and prosecution.
In addition to the IP group, Shackelford added Dallas corporate partner Robert McCormick. He focuses his practice on mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations.
