Bell Nunnally, Cole Schotz Gain IP Partners

January 14, 2021 Brooks Igo

Bell Nunnally and Cole Schotz have made moves this month to strengthen their intellectual property practices with new partner hires in Dallas.

Roxanne Edwards has joined Bell Nunnally from Klemchuk LLP, where she had served as managing principal for part of her tenure there. Her career has included stops at Brown, PC, Baker McKenzie and Winstead.

“Roxanne is a valuable addition to our growing IP team. Our clients are increasingly attuned to the value of intellectual property assets and the need to be strategic and proactive in ensuring that they are protected and enforced,” Bell Nunnally managing partner Christopher Trowbridge said in a statement.

“Roxanne’s deep experience and solid reputation in the North Texas community are certain to help further our clients’ business goals.”

Edwards advises companies on various areas of IP law, with an emphasis on global brand development, protection, strategy and enforcement. Her clients have included small and mid-size businesses as well as Fortune 100 and multinational companies in the restaurant and hospitality, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, software, manufacturing and consumer goods industries.

Cole Schotz, which has 12 attorneys in Fort Worth and Dallas, announced this week that it has picked up former Thompson & Knight partner Vishal Patel.

Patel advises clients on intellectual property disputes and technology transactions in industries including semiconductor design and manufacturing, biotechnology and medical devices, telecommunications, cloud software, investment and banking, aviation, retail and hospitality. He is a former engineer who focused on orthopedic technologies and prosthesis.
