Janice Davis Makes Move to Haynes Boone from Morgan Lewis

April 29, 2025 Allen Pusey

Haynes Boone announced Tuesday that they have hired veteran transactional lawyer Janice Davis. She had been with Morgan Lewis since 2019 and was the managing partner of its Dallas office since 2020.

Her practice of more than 30 years has included clients in the healthcare, technology and manufacturing sectors for whom she has advised on a wide range of transactions that have included mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate financing, private placements and software license agreements.

“Janice’s sophisticated experience, diverse practice and ability to manage fast-paced, high-stakes deals make her a tremendous addition to our team,” said Haynes Boone M&A Chair Tom Harris. “Her collaborative spirit and her proven ability to deliver great results to clients align perfectly with our longstanding practices and further strengthen our market-leading capabilities.”

A few of Davis’ recent deals include:

  • Representation of Smart Wires, a North Carolina developer of software guided electrical transmission wiring, in their $65 million raise of growth capital.
  • Advising DuraServ Corp, a Carrollton-based provider of overhead door and loading dock equipment, in its sale to Leonard Green & Partners.
  • Counsel to Elite Roofing Supply on its sale to Gulfeagle Supply.

A 1986 graduate of Baylor School of Law, Davis worked for nearly 19 years at Bracewell where she rose to co-chair of the firm’s technology transactions department before leaving for Morgan Lewis. Her résumé also includes earlier stints at Arter & Hadden and Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox.

In a statement, Davis said the Haynes Boone profile of practices is particularly suited to her own.

“Haynes Boone has an outstanding reputation for M&A and private equity transactions, and a strong brand here in Texas as well as on a national level. These are some of the many reasons I’m honored to join the firm,” Davis said. “With the strength of the firm’s M&A platform and its deep engagement with the local business community, this is an environment where I can deliver outstanding results for clients and be part of a dynamic team.”
