The Dallas office of Jones Day is advising Glasgow, Scotland-based engineering company The Weir Group PLC on its $240 million acquisition of El-Reno, Okla.-based Mathena, Inc.
Co-leading the Jones Day team are M&A partner Troy Lewis and M&A associate Rob Schroeder. Other Dallas Jones Day attorneys involved in the deal include tax partner Todd Wallace; tax associate Karen Currie; and M&A associates David Newland, Akash Shah and Melissa Kalka.
Len Cason and Rick Warren of the Oklahoma City firm Hartzog Conger Cason & Neville are advising Mathena in the transaction.
Mathena is a leading provider of pressure control rental equipment and services for onshore oil and gas drilling applications. The acquisition of Mathena will allow Weir multiple benefits, such as expanding its presence in the pressure control market and accelerating the growth of business through the company’s North American and international footprint.
The transaction is expected to close Dec. 31.
