By Brooks Igo

(Sept. 12) – For the second time this month, Jones Walker has lured a former energy executive to the firm’s Houston office.

The Louisiana-based law firm announced on Wednesday that Jim Noe, one of the original members of the management team of Hercules Offshore, joined the firm as special counsel. He was most recently the CEO and executive director for CH Offshore Ltd. in Singapore, where he managed the company’s offshore supply vessels operating in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Mexico.

Noe will focus his practice on major transactions, contracts and investigations involving the FCPA, securities law and other regulatory compliance matters.

As senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer of Hercules, Noe helped take the Houston company public and built its regulatory and compliance infrastructure. He led billions of dollars of acquisitions, divestitures and mergers, including the company’s $2.3 billion takeover of TODCO in 2007.
