Locke Lord Enhances Tax, Private Wealth Offerings in Dallas

May 21, 2024 Brooks Igo

Locke Lord expanded its private wealth and tax controversy teams with the addition of Dallas partner Isreal J. Miller, the firm announced this week.

Miller was previously at Atwood & McCall. The SMU Dedman School of Law graduate started his career as a clerk for the IRS and later served for five years as a trial attorney for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, where he handled more than 1,700 cases.

He also has in-house experience, spending seven years at Howard Financial Services, where he provided income tax and sophisticated estate planning to clients whose net worth is between $1 million to $100 million.

“Isreal’s diverse tax and estate planning practice combined with his vast network of connections will be integral to expanding the firm’s presence in the Dallas market,” Locke Lord Dallas Office Managing Partner Elizabeth Mack said in a firm press release. “His deep roots in the region and strong commitment to client service will fit perfectly with our collaborative culture here at Locke Lord.”

In 2021, Miller received the Nikki DeShazo Pro Bono Award from the Probate, Trusts and Estates Section of the Dallas Bar Association.

Also a certified public accountant, Miller is the president-elect of the Dallas chapter of the Texas Society for Certified Public Accountants.
