Ashley Yen, the former assistant general counsel for Methodist Health System, has taken the general counsel position at Serenity Healthcare, according to a LinkedIn post by The Podium, an organization for Asian American women lawyers in DFW.

Serenity Healthcare is based in Southlake and specializes in offering innovative therapies, including transcranial magnetic stimulation and ketamine therapy, to help patients with their mental well-being.
Yen, who was at Methodist for six and a half years, was honored with the Rookie of the Year Award by The Texas Lawbook and the DFW Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel in 2021 for her work guiding the healthcare company through Covid-19. She played a critical role in making Methodist one of the first hospitals in Texas to have its front-line medical workers receive the Pfizer vaccine.
Yen also led the transactions team in the acquisition of a new physician group and played a critical role in the opening of Methodist’s fifth wholly owned hospital in Midlothian.
Prior to her Methodist tenure, Yen worked in-house in healthcare for the Alliance Family of Companies.
Yen told The Lawbook in a 2021 profile she has wanted to be a lawyer since she was a kid, and her resume shows she has been laser-focused on gaining experience early in her career as a legal intern for various companies, including Hewlett Packard, Rug Doctor, Sun Holdings, Allegro Development Corporation, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, and TXU Energy.
The 2017 SMU Dedman School of Law graduate is an alum of its Corporate Counsel Externship Program.
