Austin bankruptcy pro Tara LeDay has joined Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr as a shareholder, the firm announced Monday.
LeDay joins Munsch Hardt from Husch Blackwell. Her national practice includes representing creditors, landlords, and corporate debtors in restructuring, insolvency, and creditors’ rights matters.
“Tara has spent her career navigating complex bankruptcy matters from nearly every side of the table, which gives her an understanding of not only the legal issues at stake, but the business pressures driving each decision,” Kevin M. Lippman, head of Munsch Hardt’s bankruptcy practice, said in a statement.
LeDay has handled significant Chapter 11 proceedings involving major companies across the real estate, retail, financial services and energy sectors and has served as general and special litigation counsel to Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees. Her work has involved sophisticated issues surrounding lien priority, cash collateral and adequate protection, executory contracts and leases, asset sales, and preference actions.
She said Munsch Hardt combines the strength of a regional firm with the resources to support her national practice.
LeDay worked at the Round Rock law firm McCreary Veselka Bragg & Allen while she was in college at Southwestern University and law school at Baylor. After receiving her law degree in 2017, she continued working at MVBA for about five more years.
Munsch Hardt expanded its Austin footprint this year. With nearly 150 lawyers, the firm came in as the 20th largest firm by Texas headcount per Texas Lawbook 50 reporting.
