(Feb. 20) – Houston trial lawyer Mark Lanier has been elected the 2018 president of the National Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only organization of the top U.S. trial lawyers committed to promoting the profession’s highest ethical standards and ideals.
Lanier formally stepped into his new role on Feb. 7 during the organization’s annual summit in Miami.
“Trial lawyers are needed more than ever to keep corporations honest and protect individuals from harm. I’m looking forward to doing everything in my power to use this position to continue this organization’s great work,” Lanier said in a statement.
The National Trial Lawyers honored Lanier with its “Trial Lawyer of the Year” award in 2016 and 2017. He was also inducted into the organization’s hall of fame in 2017.
