(January 22)—Houston-based Porter Hedges has promoted Susan Cates, Heather Hatfield and William Rasmussen to the partnership.
“Both Heather and Susan started at Porter Hedges as summer associates and Bill has been with the firm for the majority of his career as a lawyer,” Rob Reedy, the firm’s managing partner, said in a statement. “During this time, all three have developed into excellent lawyers that embody our commitment to client service at Porter Hedges.
Cates, a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, focuses her practice on employment litigation and consulting, business litigation and construction litigation. She serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and is active in the Women’s Initiative program.
Hatfield focuses her practice on complex contract disputes, oil and gas litigation, corporate investigations and white collar crime defense involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, insurance defense disputes and construction disputes. She has served on the firm’s Recruiting Committee and Diversity Committee since 2007. The Boston University School of Law graduate is also active in the Women’s Initiative program.
Rasmussen, also a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, focuses his practice on wealth preservation planning, encompassing wills and trust agreements, estate, gift and income tax planning, probate and trust administration, marital property agreements and asset preservation.
