(January 8)–John Higgins, a partner at Houston-based Porter Hedges, will be inducted as a Fellow in the 25th Class of the American College of Bankruptcy (College) on Mar. 14, 2014. He is one of four nominees from Texas being recognized by the honorary professional and educational association of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals.
The University of Houston Law Center graduate is the head of Porter Hedges’ bankruptcy section. He has represented clients for more than 30 years in workouts and Chapter 11 cases in Texas and across the country.
There were 33 nominees nationwide, bringing the total number of College Fellows to 831. The other Texas nominees include Deirdre Ruckman, partner at Gardere; William Snyder, principal at Deloitte’s Corporate Restructuring Group; and the Honorable Marvin Isgur, Southern District of Texas.
